So not very many of my blogger readers will really appreciate this post, but a few will. But it is a long one so hold on. We have had many cruisers since we have been married and Scott sold my favorite FJ40 in 2002 because someone bid alot for it on Ebay. It was not his plan to sell it and he put it on Ebay just to see how much it would go for. I was very sad. Scott bought our most recent FJ40 way back in 2004 and it is not finished yet! AAHH Really this is partly my fault. But this cruiser will never be put on Ebay!!!! When we bought the cruiser it was completely rotten and Scott really only kept the frame. It isn't finished because we bought a house completely gutted the house, went to Oklahoma about 10 times for like a year in total, fixed our yard up, finished Scott's sisters basement, finished our basement, worked on friends cruisers and projects. He has been a little distracted and he is very very very anal (which is why I love him). Scott is amazing. He took the cruiser completely apart and cleans up every part (or buys a new one) and paints the part and puts it on the cruiser. He does everything. He cuts and welds medal and does all of the mechanical work himself and paints himself. He is amazing and I can't wait for the cruiser to be finished THIS SPRING! Here we come Moab!!!! Here are some pictures to show his progress.
April 2004 - Scott completely took the cruiser apart piece by piece and put it into boxes. We lived in an apartment without a garage, poor guy.
The entire cruiser was completely rotten. I don't think we have a picture of the cruiser all together.
This is seriously how dirty he was. I had to take a picture.
May 2004 - Scott bought this Cruiser just for the tub. It looks horrible, but was better than the first one.
September 2005 - Scott cut the bad body panels out of the tub of the white cruiser he bought.
September 2005 - Scott welded new body panels back in.
September 2005 - Scott welded a new floor and wheel wells in.
June 2006 - With the help of our good friend, Shawn, Scott finished all the body work.
August 2006 - Scott scraped, cleaned and painted the frame. Scott rebuilt his original 2F engine and mounted it on the frame.
March 2007 - Scott and Shawn painted the tub!!
June 2007 - The front dash and pedals and many other parts are installed.
January 2008 - The roll bars are painted and installed. Scott repaired the seats and is getting new seat covers upholstered.
February 2008 - Scott had the seats upholstered. He put the longer seats in back for our growing family. We can have 4 kids back there now!!
March 2009 - Scott sold the 2F engine and bought a 13bt diesel engine from Japan and had it shipped over. The trucker literally dropped it off in front of our house. It made the biggest bang. So Scott ended up getting a killer deal for it because the insurance company had to give us money and he bought the damaged engine back from them.
Dec 2009 - Scott took the engine apart and rebuilt it. He also painted every piece and made it look brand new!

Jan 2010 - Look at this cruiser. Scott put the hood and wheel skirts on so he can make sure they fit and mount more parts. Now he will take them off and do their body work and paint them. YEAH We are getting so close.

Wow, I always knew you had it in you to do something like this! Nice Machine! Are you actually going to want to take it off road? Sounds FUN!
Thanks, The plan is to take it off road, since that was the whole reason for building it, but I will definitely be careful as to what trail I will take it on. I am hoping to get this done by April/May, but I also never intended it to take 5 years to build either:)
